Classes, Workshops, and Get-Togethers || Austin, TX

Sign up for a scheduled class, workshop or party at my Austin, TX photography studio or check out my one-on-one mentorship options HERE.

Monday, May 13, 2024 from 10am - 1pm at Jessica Doffing Photography Studio (2213 Poquito St, Unit 102, Austin, TX 78722).

As newborn and child photographers, safety should be our #1 concern. Being CPR certified will show our clients that we are dedicated to being as safe as possible and able to handle an emergency situation if one should occur. Once completed you will receive a certificate from the American Safety & Health Institute that will be valid for 2 years. You’ll also get a chance to mingle with other photographers after the class. We’ll have refreshments and the opportunity to do some prop-swapping/shopping. So don’t forget to bring any props that no longer spark joy for you. Spaces are limited.

Newborn Headband-Making Party

April 27, 2023 from 5pm -9pm at Jessica Doffing Photography Studio (2213 Poquito St, Unit 102, Austin, TX 78722). Sign up here - Newborn Headband-Making Workshop Signup

Newborn photographers can never have enough props, am I right? Let's get together, have a drink or two, and make our own headbands. You'll leave with some new friends and 5-10 completed headbands. All supplies included. You only need to bring your own scissors, glue gun, glue sticks and something to hold your headbands on while you are designing them. An extra large mason jar or large round oatmeal container works great.

Note - These headbands are quite delicate and designed for photography purposes only.

Basic DSLR Camera Class for Moms

Do you have a DSLR camera that you’ve only been using in auto mode? Do you keep saying you want to really learn how to use your camera some day, but never do? Well, this course if for you! The goal of this class if for you to get better, more professional looking images of your children. Learn what all the buttons mean and how to use, how to position your child for the best lighting, what good composition means, and what settings to use to get those creamy backgrounds or how to freeze the action during your kid’s sports games. All in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere with everyone wanting the same thing - better photos of their kiddos!!

We will spend some time in the studio learning the basic functions of our camera, what things like shutter speed and aperture mean, and other technical jargon. After we’ve got that down we’ll head down the street to a local park where we’ll have some children (aka models). They will think they’re just there playing but we will be using them to learn. Ask me about having your own kids join us for the fun!

For the class you will need a DSLR camera, a lens (we will work with whatever you have but a zoom lens is preferred), batteries, memory cards, your camera manual, and something to take notes with.

Cost $200
